10-29-99 NEWS. The 10-28-99 Digests are now available. I hope you have had some hits on
your equipment, but if you haven't, do not despair. There are two
up-coming events that will increase the traffic at this site, as well as
give you a "live" opportunity to sell or purchase:
We will be placing two larger Ads in the Helena Independent Record, one
this coming Sunday and the next Wednesday.
The ads will also advertise for the "live" "U-Sell-It" SkiSwap Flea Market
in the Helena High Parking Lot, Sat Nov. 6, 10-2. Sellers will be charged
$5. General admission otherwise is $1 for adults, and 50 cents for teens
and kids.
We will be handing out SkiSwap flyers at the Warren Miller Movie on Friday
eve, Nov 5 and at Helena High on Nov 6. Finally, the Ski Swap Site is advertised on a banner at the local
Independent Record Site: http://helenair.com (Thank You Kathleen)
- 10-18-99 NEWS. To accommodate people wanting to purchase an item or items, and also for sellers with multiple items who want to enter their own descriptions, we have incorporated a 4th form: "Multiple Items (up to 5) for Sale or Wanted". In this form, complete descriptions (including prices) will help sell your item(s).
- 10-18-99 NEWS. One user commented on cookies that pop up when using the forms. The forms we are using are a free service from another provider on the internet, and we do not have control over the cookies they use. If you "Enable" cookies in your browser, you shouldn't be bothered by the cookies.
- 10-17-99 NEWS. The 10-14-99 Digest was a small one, but we've received more ads so far this week than in all of last week. We're putting up flyers in the grocery stores and other businesses, but the best way to advertise is to a friend. Please take a minute to click on the "Recommend-It" button on the SkiSwap (next to the Items for Sale link) and recommend SkiSwap to a friend, or to several,, please.
- 10-17-99 NEWS. GDST SkiSwap has decided to let CompuBank put its banner on the SkiSwap page. What that means is for each person that clicks on the SkiSwap link to CompuBank and becomes a customer, the GDST receives a small credit. This could help in a small way with covering costs. While GDST can not endorse CompuBank, it does note that Smart Money gave CompuBank its #1 rating.
- 10-12-99 NEWS. The GDST has decided to place an ad about this site in The ADIT and Mini-Nickel for 4 weeks. The cost is $37.20. These ads should be in The Adit tomorrow.
- 10-12-99 NEWS. Since last Thursday, only 5 ads have been placed. If you get a chance, tell your friends about this free swap. Also, we received a "Wanted" ad, but there is no place to put it. Are people interested in a "Wanted" category in the forms? If so, e-mail the list moderator.
- 10-08-99 NEWS. As of yesterday evening, October 7, 1999, we published our first digest. Make sure you click the refresh button on your browser if you can't access it at first. Also, a few users reported not being able to open the 10-07-99 Digest. That was my fault. Due to a late evening upload and no cold cloth to wake me up, I inserted one little extra space where it didn't need to be in the coding. Some browsers were unable to adjust for this, and hence they were unable to load the digest. Sorry.
- 10-08-99 NEWS. One of our users suggested newspaper advertising to get the word out about this E-SWAP. The cost of an Independent Record ad, 3 lines for thirty days, is $75-$80. If you like this service and want the ads to be read by more people, please drop a dollar or two into an envelope (or more preferably a check made out to GDST-SkiSwap) and send it to 2200 Cannon, Helena, MT 59601. If there is sufficient interest, we will place a newspaper ad.
